Chandler High School Senior photographer | Cory
Shooting seniors never gets old for me—they're at this wild in-between stage where they're figuring out who they are, and I get to capture that. Cory's session was one of those where I didn't have to work hard to make it good. The kid's a star varsity volleyball player at Chandler High, an academic standout, and genuinely one of the most down-to-earth people I've met. Also? He loves his mama, which automatically makes him a favorite in my book.
We started on campus at Chandler High because it's where he's spent the last four years making memories. I'm a big believer in using locations that actually mean something to my seniors rather than just going somewhere that "looks good." The campus gave us solid variety without overthinking it.
After we wrapped at school, we found a volleyball court because I'd watched Cory play before and knew we needed to get him in action. He's fantastic on the court, and those shots ended up being some of my favorites from the whole session. There's something about capturing what people are actually passionate about—it just hits different.
Tips for Senior Photo Sessions
Bring your gear. If you play a sport, do theater, make art—bring props that show what you actually care about. Generic senior photos are fine, but photos that show who you really are? Way better.
Pick locations that matter. Your school, your favorite coffee shop, the park you've been going to since you were a kid. These spots add context and make your photos feel less like stock images.
Relax. I know that's easier said than done, but the best shots happen when you're not trying so hard. Trust your photographer to guide you, but also just be yourself.
