Salt River Engagement Session | Kiana + Joe
We shot at the Salt River in the evening, right around sunset. Kiana and Joe were friends first before they started dating, and you can tell—they're just so comfortable with each other. They showed up excited and ready, totally laid back about everything. Not overthinking every detail, just ready to have fun, which is exactly the vibe you want.

Their Salt River Engagement Session
The Salt River at sunset is unmatched. The light, the cliffs, the water—it all comes together perfectly. Plus, it's close enough to the East Valley that it's easy to get to but feels remote and dramatic once you're there.
We decided it was necessary to get into the water, and it made for some of my favorite shots of the day! The expanse of the Arizona sky, the cliffs in the background, the water around them, and this beautiful cloudy sky overhead. It's just them in this huge landscape, and it's stunning. These are personally my favorite types of shots :)
Tips for Salt River Engagement Sessions
Sunset Timing is Everything: We shot in the evening, and the light was perfect. Plan for golden hour if you want that warm, romantic glow.
Be Ready to Get a Little Wet: If you're comfortable getting in the water (even just ankle deep), it opens up some amazing photo opportunities. Bring a towel and embrace it.
Show Up Relaxed: Kiana and Joe weren't stressed about every little thing, and it made the whole session feel easy and fun. Trust the process and just be yourselves.
